Autumn and You

by Gowri Bhargav

They say the myriad hues of autumn are bright,

But I say your azure sparkling eyes can even light up a starless night.

They say the boisterous fall leaves dance with gay abandon,

But I say your wild sprightly hair pirouettes with passion.

They say the cool crisp wind whispers songs sweet,

But I say the words you utter is a melodic treat.

They say autumn ends and beckons winter,

But my love! When I’m with you it’s spring forever.
