Theme : Write a poem about your fears

 

Behind the seemingly placid face,

Sometimes my heart seems to race,

Fears entwined with self- doubts,

Sting and recklessly shout.

 

What if I fail to cross the hurdles?

What if I don’t win my battles?

What if all my wishes tumble?

What if my dreams break and dangle?

 

And then there are some storms that blow untamed,

With past memories that can’t be named,

In fits and bursts they appear,

And cloud me with intense fear.

 

No matter how hard I try to appease, 

When the fears fail to cease,

A silent prayer I sincerely whisper,

For me to rise above my fears and emerge stronger.
