Flipping through the pages of a book in oblivion I drown,

In a world of fiction hands of the clock slowdown,

How I travel to places distant,

Hatch an escapade by becoming a reader ardent.

With a child like mind I traverse paths uncharted,

To the rules of the world mortal I’m unbounded,

I can tether to clouds, walk in the empyrean heights,

Pave paths gilded with shimmering starlight.

How I wish to stay stuck in this world for hours together,

Floating ‘midst stories surreal forever,

But reality oft comes knocking in ways rude,

To snatch me away from the much sought interlude.
