Dizain is a French poem that became a favourite of many 15th and 16th century French poets. However this style was also employed in English by John Keats. Here are the basic rules of the dizain:
1) It has a one ten-line stanza.
2) There are 10 syllables per line.
3) It employs the following rhyme scheme: ababbccdcd

Here is a poem attempted by me;
Title : Dolce far niente
The dishes in the sink give a vile stare,
Oh! The dusty floor craves my attention,
The hanging cobwebs, I seem unaware,
‘Cause I sip my coffee with pure passion,
Blissful–my momentary vacation,
Oblivious to all the pending chores
Nothingness, I welcome opening doors,
Meanwhile the humdrum routines, stay on hold,
The ticking clock, my mind gladly ignores,
In simple acts of self love, joys unfold.

Loved your poem. So true. Sometimes, we just have to let go and not go by the clock.
Thankyou very much Srividya
