Theme : Write a poem about a futuristic world that has technologically grown in mtyriad ways

Concrete jungles with towers spiral,

Greenery on earth dangerously dwindles,

The futuristic earth looks intimidating, 

The atmosphere seems suffocating.

 

In the name of technological advancement,

Nature’s laws are dangerously bent,

Unreasonable are ways of mankind,

Their choice to sacrifice Nature is unkind.

 

The carmine sky is replete with storms and lightning,

The sight of skeletal trees seems disturbing,

The totalitarian government is brutal,

The rules imposed are unreasonable.

 

The ones poor live in pathetic bunkers,

Wars are fought for food and water,

The ones rich have privileges several,

Unperturbed they are about the ones who struggle.

 

A battle between different sections seem imminent,

From universal human values everyone seem distant,

Savage seem the training for a ruthless battle,

Words like love and peace have lost their meaning in ways unimaginable. 

 

Doesn’t the above dystopian world appear appalling?

The future does not seem promising,

Unless mankind mend their mindless ways,

For our generation how can we foresee better days?
