RAINBOW! When a medley of colors lights up the sky,
The somber clouds recede and slowly die.
The trajectory of every color uniquely paints the firmament with glee,
Analogous to the kaleidoscopic choices that we make, don’t you see?
We have wishes and desires just like you,
In myriad ways we struggle for recognition, it’s true.
Trapped in a body, fearing the world, why should we stay?
Just ’cause we belong to the LGBTQ family, don’t we have a say?
‘Love and let live’ – please respect the paths we choose,
Our rights, and self-respect, we will not lose.
Embrace our choices, shun the taboo,
Resetting your mindset will unravel connections new.
We are humans too, can’t you see?
Shed all inhibitions, hear our pleas.
Let the language of love unite this world – we don’t wish to be lonesome,
We look forward to the day when we can walk with pride and FREEDOM.
