Goa Diaries

by Gowri Bhargav

As the soothing waves touched my feet,

My vagrant mind was filled with peace,

All my worries slowly did cease,

My enthralled eyes gazed far and wide.

The sifting sands seemed to whisper,

As the soothing waves touched my feet,

The sonorous sea with its chants,

Ebbed and flowed and how my heart hummed.

Ah! Eventide held me in trance,

The shifting hues had my eyes dance,

As the soothing waves touched my feet,

The yearning sea with sky did meet.

The sights and sounds nourished my soul,

Unmindful of the ticking clock

I drifted with the balmy breeze

As the soothing waves touched my feet.
