It’s not autumn,
I’m still green,
There’s still time,
Yet I fell too soon.

I didn’t bid adieu,
To my friends in the tree,
Won’t they miss me,
‘Cause I fell too soon!

I still had songs unsung,
wished to dance with the wind,
Called myself the brightest leaf,
But I fell too soon.

May be that’s life,
Ephemeral it is,
Though I knew it would end one day,
I fell too soon.

The dulcet waves sing,
The mellow sand buries me,
In peace I rest,

Though I fell too soon.
