I kissed a poet during fall,
‘neath the cool mellow scarlet sky,
When songs of nature did resound,
Amidst vine maples standing tall.
Willows whispered sweet secrets when
I kissed a poet during fall,
In entwined verses oh! I drowned,
The river of love did consume.
With the twirling leaves I did dance,
Swaying with vivid imageries,
I kissed a poet during fall,
And his passion set me ablaze.
Dreams dangled in autumnal air,
We oft waltzed in a paradise,
Spring bloomed before fall could end ’cause,
I kissed a poet during fall.
