Sequined songs of love I try to forget,
Erasing every memory of you,
Alas! If only our eyes had ne’er met,
No seeds would be sown for a storm to brew.
‘Twas a fatal attraction, time’d stood still,
We merged into a framed constellation,
I loved the idea of you until
What ensued was a cosmic explosion.
The universe conspired for us to part,
No tears could douse the embers of desire,
Ballads of passion though I ripped apart,
The pain still gnaws ‘neath my heart in armour.
When susurrating songs still linger,
In dreamland, I desperately teeter.
