Lured by your Melody

by Gowri Bhargav

Theme : Use all the colors of the rainbow in your poem

Beneath the vermillion red sky, as I sit by the river during eventide,

I’m mesmerized by a distant melody from a flute,

I twirl endlessly lost in a distant realm,

My orange and green lehenga buoyantly floats kissing the passing wind,

Sending clandestine whispers of my unread epistles to you, O’ Neela( blue) Megha Shyama…

Soon the enchanting melody lures me to you,

The iridescent feather of peacock shimmering in hues of violet, Indigo, green and gold that your adorn as a crowned jewel,

sways as your lips gently blow magic through the holes of the destined bamboo..

My beating heart is in synchrony with the lyrical cadence of my anklets,

As your eyes finally meet mine, my heart skips a beat,

Your eloquent eyes flood my craving soul with immense sunshine spanning myriad shades of yellow,

O, Krishna ! I, Radha, submerged in an ocean of eternal love and passion transcend

and surrender completely at thy divine feet,

I worry neither about the bygone past

Nor about the unknown future,

Consumed by love, in the present moment let our souls entwine in bliss forever.
