Wrinkles criss crossed her aging face,
Head was crowned with strands of greys.
Bones rickety went squeak, squeak, squeak,
Diabetes had made her weak.
Children had flown away from the nest,
In the grave, her spouse did rest.
“But life must still move on,” with a smile she said,
“Why should I drown in tears and be depressed?
A new life- I wish to lead again,”
with glee, declared old Jane.
She enlisted all things that she wished to do,
Traveled, met friends, signed up for salsa too.
It’s never too late to start over,
Happiness doesn’t have an expiration date, remember!
