Surreal Sonata

by Gowri Bhargav

Twilight conjured images of thee,

Sprinkling stardust you fondly held me,

We waltzed in a realm otherworldly,

‘Midst moon, stars, swirling with ecstacy,

Ah! Your eyes seemed like an endless sea,

Far from the mortal world we soared free,

Alas! The sojourn halted sadly,

‘Twas a dream–far from reality.
