“The Dance of Fury” is Latha Prakash’s debut novella. A romantic story with engaging narration, it is a quick and enjoyable read.
Anandhi, a nurse from Chennai is stationed at Kodaikanal hospital. She meets a forest officer Rajesh and both are magnetically attracted to each other. They even decide to get married. But destiny seems to have other plans. Will they get married? If not , what was the reason? There are several unanswered questions which make the reader hooked to the story.
The settings especially in Kodai are replete with vivid imageries. The hospital settings and scenes have also been described well. The language is captivating and easy to follow. The transition between the present and past is seamless. Every chapter has something to unfold and towards the end all the answers become evident. I loved the friendship that Anandi and Amrita shared, and also the bond that is portrayed between Anandi and her parents.
If you are looking for a quick, easy read with beautiful vocabulary and a sprinkle of romance then do read the book. Though my heart wished for a different ending, the author’s choice is satisfactory too.
The book is available for free in the kindle edition.
