The following quote inspired the poem;
“What necessity is there to dwell on the Past, when the Present is so much surer—— the Future so much brighter?”
Charlotte Bronte ( Jane Eyre)
*********
O ye men! The fragmented past may haunt thou time and again,
O’er burdening thou with piling baggages,
Cluttering thy mind with memories that pierce,
And pulsate with flashing moments of agony…
But doesn’t the past exist in a time bygone?
Ne’er can they manifest into reality – only in memories do they live,
So chase away all the fears that embroil thy mind,
Drive away the events from the bitter past that prove to be an obstacle
And threaten to o’er shadow a myriad opportunities that lie ahead,
Hark! What necessity is there to dwell on the Past, when the Present is so much surer- the Future so much brighter ?
Learn to dwell in the present and steer thyself towards the path of glory,
A garlanded future shalt beckon thou undoubtedly.
