When toxic words pierce through a tender heart,
Viciously and ruthlessly its pulled apart,
The pain and the tears are beyond compare,
The weight of the wounds accrues as one moves around everywhere,
Poking, prodding, the words diminish a soft soul,
Overtime, creating an irreparable and abysmal hole,
The scars may fade but never will they disappear,
Especially when the hurtful words are uttered by those dear.
