‘Neath the 𝗺𝗼𝗼𝗻lit sky we weaved a story,

Our eloquent 𝗲𝘆𝗲𝘀 conversed in silence,

In an ethereal place where none could see.

 

The 𝗯𝗶𝗿𝗱𝘀 hummed a sweet melody,

Lilting our jocund hearts with cadence,

‘Neath the moonlit sky we weaved a story,

 

The 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗱 whistled with notes balmy,

Fragrance from the ethereal 𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗹𝗲𝘀 was dense,

In an ethereal place where none could see.

 

We were drawn to each other slowly,

As we bared our souls sans pretense,

‘Neath the moonlit sky we weaved a story,

 

Our fluid passion oozed with poetry,

From dusk to 𝗱𝗮𝘄𝗻 blazed to heights immense,

In an ethereal place where none could see.

 

Our hearts connected in the 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁 night starry,

Ah! Your love laced 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗱𝘀 were truly intense,

‘Neath the moonlit sky we weaved a story,

In an ethereal place where none could see.

The Villanelle is known for its repeated lines and a refrain. It consists of five tercets and a quatrain (6 stanzas or 19 lines in total). The form is expressed this way:
