A Poet’s Muse

by Gowri Bhargav

When

I fell

For a poet…

Words

I uttered

Ignited his pen.

He

Lured feelings

From my heart.

Adorned

Verses with

Figures of speech.

Imageries

Danced ecstatically,

Breathing with life.

My

Heart sang

Songs of melody.

Forever

I dwelled

In a paradise.

Sadly…

I was

Just his muse.

My

Impassioned plea

Echoed with pain.

Shattered,

I withered

With unrequited love.
