Shirin Yoku ( Forest Bathing)

by Gowri Bhargav

The tall trees entwine with the sky,

Casting fond shadows with cadence,

Every image my eyes espy,

As I walk in the forest dense.

A solivagant I am lost in trance,

navigating uncharted paths myriad,

Drenched by the soulful serenades of wilderness,

My heightened senses burst with delight,

As my tranquil mind captures the sights and sounds with ardor,

I’m alone yet contented in solitude,

The woods gift me with abundance,

I flit like a winged butterfly.

Chaos are replaced by silence,

All thoughts negative slowly die,

The damp earth cradles my weary soul,

Susurrating leaves sing a soothing lullaby,

Flowers waft with fragrance heady,

Sunlight warms the cockles of my heart,

The forest spirits usher me into their distant realm,

The hands of the clock stop as I transcend.

I find my true calling in the lap of nature,

Every moment with her is a fulfilling adventure.
