In dreams, I dwell

by Gowri Bhargav

The stygian gloom swathes like looming clouds around me

Blinding the path ahead that mourns without thee,

The golden orb fails to illumine my ambling days,

My silent screams echo with thy name within the walls of my throbbing heart,

I am verklempt throughout the day and refrain from speaking to anyone,

“Why, why…did thou go leaving me marooned, My love?” I make an impassioned plea…

As the day ends and unregretfully silences the entire world,

My restless eyes shut after pondering over questions many,

Thankfully, I travel to a realm afar, a dreamland perhaps,

Thou come seeking for me and embrace me in thy bosom with love,

With tranquility settles down my restless heart in the realm of thine,

Hark! All days are nights to see till I see thee, and nights bright days when dreams do show thee me.
