Solitary Evening

by Gowri Bhargav

The crepuscular sky was tinged with the kaleidoscopic hues of eventide,
A heavenly sight to behold…
Chirping birds like songsters sang their songs in unison
Before returning to their nests,
The lights of the city shimmered one after the other,
As the sky now twinkled with a constellation of stars and the seraphic moon,
I sat enjoying a date with myself;
Admiring the sights and sounds,
Relishing a delectable feast in the balcony,
Seeking bliss in absolute quietude,
A solitary evening with me, myself,
Spent unregretfully to rejuvenate my mind and soul.
